Introducing: Separate Substacks for The Climbing Zine + Luke Mehall
I was first introduced to Substack probably two years ago now, and right away I realized it was a powerful tool.
It has also taken me two years to figure out exactly how I want to share stories with our beloved readers. After all, our online approach has always been to share material directly from The Climbing Zine and my books.
Recently I’ve realized I also want to start writing more about things that aren’t climbing. Most of my writing has been centered around climbing for many years, and I want to have that freedom to branch out and write about other things.
So: this account will be for sharing The Climbing Zine stories and art in a unique way, and I’ll write my non-climbing stories at a page I’ll be creating shortly.
Lastly: I want to share this link for 50% off a subscription for our printed zine. We had an anonymous donor support 50 of these this summer, and we want to extend this to 25 more, on us.

Thanks for reading.
PS: if you’re balling on a budget and just want to listen to our Dirtbag State of Mind podcast, we are in the middle of Season 7.
Peace,
Luke

That is so cool to hear! I have had a similar path on getting my head around how to best use Substack in ways that work for me. It's evolving. But what isn't in a life?
By the way, I just finished listening to the Sam McIlwaine and Mary Eden episodes. Really engaging, both in their own ways! Beyond all the climbing meat and potatoes, I really loved hearing discussions about artistic and creative processes as well as all the other facets of their lives. This is what I love about climbers: if it was just about climbing all the time, that would be boring. What's interesting is who are the people that climb and how did they get there? This is where the good stuff lies.
Thanks for bringing these voices to your audience!
